Before taking a product to market, our clients need to know:

  • How do real users use the product?
  • Does the product do what our client wants it to do?
  • Can it be improved?
  • Can it be made more user-friendly, easier to operate, more efficient?
  • Can it be made safer?

Answering these questions can often make the difference between a successful product, and a failure which leads to the loss of thousands of dollars, customer trust, and perhaps even dangerous accidents.

Projects

Customer notification of a potentially dangerous situation is critically important. In its quest for improving the effeciency and impact of its "hang tags," a major public utility company wanted us to study the content and design of their current tags. We applied human factors experience to the task, generated an extensive report, and provided safety guidelines from the American National Standards Institute to aid in redesigning the tags.
