PANDA generates models of normal vessel behavior, alerts users about vessel deviations, uses context to update normal behavior or explain reasons for deviations, predicts vessel’s future behavior, and displays normalcy, deviation, and prediction visualizations in Google Earth.

PSE contributed to the PANDA program by:

• Ensuring that the system was built to accommodate the characteristics of its user population, and to support the mission requirements of its intended operational commands.
• Developing a CONOPs through baseline assessments to determine how PANDA capabilities would be used
• Providing over 200 Human Factors-based recommendations for PANDA system improvement with 63% of recommendations incorporated into the current PANDA design and 37% of recommendations applicable for future PANDA development
