Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San Diego asked PSE to conduct an organizational evaluation of the match between the work process used by the Crisis Action Team at the U.S. Navy's Pacific Command and several technologies targeted for future transition into this work unit.
Major functions of the Crisis Action Team work process were described. Anticipated changes to the performance of these functions due to the introduction of the new technologies were identified. Components of the work process were identified for process improvement interventions. The expected effects on components of the work process from implementing the new technologies were analyzed.
PSE provided recommendations for the transition and implementation of the new technologies into the Crisis Action Team work group. These recommendations centered on revising aspects of the Crisis Action Team's organization and performing job redesigns so that the Team could better benefit from the new technologies.
