Shared Lightweight Annotation Technology - SLATE

SLATE is net-centric wireless software for palmtop/laptop for small team communications, allowing users to import mission documents (maps, timelines, photos) and exchange annotations directly on them – like an acetate overlay. SLATE is very low bandwidth, and has advanced HCI to support multiple missions, tighter asynchronous collaboration, superior situation awareness, and more efficient use than common shared whiteboard tools. SLATE is geared toward Special Operations but is broadly applicable to security, ashore, and civil operations. SLATE is participating in Trident Warrior 08 as a functioning prototype.
